For what can be found about this Charlotte Negro League ball club, the Charlotte Black Yankees could have possibly existed sometime between 1911 - 1934, and were likely named after the big name "New York" Black Yankees.
Throughout the 20th century, there have been various other Negro League ball clubs that had the name "Black Yankees", likely naming their clubs after the ever popular New York Black Yankees, who were formed by famous tap dancer "Bill Bojangles" Robinson.
(Robinson had no affiliation with the "Charlotte" Black Yankees)
In the (New York) club's early years, "Bill Bojangles" Robinson would be seen tap dancing on the dugout during Black Yankees games.
In 1932, when the club became too big for Robinson to handle, he sold his controlling interest of the New York ball club to James "Soldier Boy" Selmer, a Harlem numbers runner who almost single-handedley ran the club into the ground.
