Asheville-Charlotte Blues

Of what can be found about this ball club, it is thought that the Asheville Blues, a prominent and long lasting Negro League ball club in Asheville North Carolina, also played in Charlotte for their 1949 season, playing as the "Asheville" Blues in Asheville, and as the "Charlotte" Blues in Charlotte.

The club likely played in the Negro American Association, and had a roster of players like Artis Plummer, Eugene "Spider" "Gene" Benson, and Roy E. "Silent Roy" Partlow. S.H Posey was the Blues' general manager. The Washington-Homestead Grays played against the Blues in Asheville on Easter Sunday, and then in Charlotte the following Monday.
