If you have baseball in your soul, it doesn’t go away. It’s there forever.
– Dick Enberg
Semi Pro baseball has been in Charlotte, North Carolina for over 100 years, dating back as early as 1890 with the Negro League Charlotte Quicksteps ball club, and as recent as 2019 with the AAA Charlotte Knights.
Harmon Killebrew, Frank "What-a-man" Packard, "Sloppy" Jack Lowery, and Jose Canseco are just a few of the many names that once played for a Charlotte NC baseball team.
Over the years, many ball clubs teams like the Hornets, Red Sox, Knights, Pepsi Cola Giants, Presbyterians, etc.. represented the Queen City through the American pastime of baseball.
Although baseball may not be as big of a hit as it once was in the 19th and 20 century, it still thrives on to this day, and is enjoyed by fans and athletes of all ages.
